KID CLASSES

MINI-MUSICAL CAMPS

What: So you want to be in a musical?! Well, now’s your chance! In this camp, you will be given lines to memorize, dances and music to practice and perfect, and a chance to perform in a mini musical at the end of the week!

Who: Ages 6–12 (sessions 1–5) and ages 12–17 (session 6)

When: Session 1 (Kids): Jun. 3–7 from 9:00 am–10:30 am; Session 2 (Kids): Jun. 3–7 from 11:00 am–12:30 pm; Session 3 (Kids): Jun. 10–14 from 9:00 am–10:30 am; Session 4 (Kids): Jun. 10–14 from 11:00 am–12:30 pm; Session 5 (Kids): Jul. 8–12 from 9:00 am–10:30 am; Session 6 (Teens): Jul. 8–12 from 11:00 am–12:30 pm

PRIVATE ACTING LESSONS

What: Meet weekly to hone your skills to become a better actor. You'll learn fundamental acting techniques, how to break down a monologue, and gain the confidence to be your best self on and off the stage and screen. This includes three 30-minute private acting lessons and one master class each month.

Who: All ages

Cost: $130/month

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (SHAKESPEARE WORKSHOP)

What: Develop and apply your skills as a Shakespearean actor! In this 2-week workshop, students will rehearse and perform a 50-minute cutting of one of Shakespeare’s famous plays. Throughout the process, students will obtain the tools to better interpret and utilize the Bard’s heightened text. The overall focus of the class will be on punctuation, rhythm, structure, and sound, ensuring the improvement of each student’s performance, not only as an individual, but as a collective ensemble. This workshop is great preparation for the Utah High School Shakespeare Competition in the Fall!

Who: Ages 14–18 (High School)

When: Mondays through Fridays: June 10–21 from 10:00 am–11:30 am

What: This upbeat class will focus on rhythm, balance, and basic steps. The students will learn and perform a tap combination from the tap-filled musical Thoroughly Modern Millie! Tap shoes are recommended, but not required.

Who: Ages 12+ (Adults Included!)

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays: Jun. 11– 27 from 5:00 pm–6:00 pm

BACKSTAGE BOOTCAMP

What: Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a full theatrical production? This camp is the place for you! Each day will be focused on a different type of technical theater with professionals in the industry! Learn set design, lighting design, costume design, hair & makeup design, sound design, properties design, stage management, and directing. At the end of camp we will have a technical design fair showcasing your own designs!

Who: Ages 12–17

TAKE THE STAGE BOOTCAMP

What: Let’s Take the Stage! This two-week intensive is designed for the performer wanting to take their performing to the next level. Each day will be focused on a different skill to help students hone their acting, dancing, and auditioning chops with professionals working in the industry! At the end of camp, students will leave with confidence in their performance skills, a new headshot, and they’ll take the stage in a showcase!

Who: Ages 12–17

EXTREME THEATER

What: This camp is a whirlwind! Students will learn the basics of writing for the stage and then are placed into teams where each team has to work together to write, produce, and perform a short 10-minute play at the end of the week. Now that’s extreme!

Who: Ages 12–17

When: Monday through Friday: Jun. 24–28 from 10:00 am–11:30 am
