Season Ticket FAQ

GENERAL TICKET INFO

When do season tickets go on sale?

Buy a Seat Donors - July 1, Current Season Ticket Holders - July 15, All other patrons - August 1

Why did the price of tickets go up?

Ticket prices have risen primarily due to inflation and the rising production costs. (However, the Early Bird season ticket prices remained the same.)

Why are the season ticket options different this year?

In an effort to be sure all our season ticket holders have seats to each show, we've revamped our season ticket options. We believe the new pricing and benefit structure will serve to ensure we accommodate as many season ticket holders as possible to each show.

What happened to the Weeknight season ticket?

We have revamped our season ticket structure for clarity's sake, and to guarantee seating for every show for our season ticket holders. HCTO has become so popular, that we want to be sure our season ticket holders have their reservations set in stone well in advance of each show to guarantee them a seat to each performance.

What happened to the Restricted View (or "B") season ticket?

The Southwest section of the theater has been reconstructed such that the seats in that section now face the stage, accommodate more patrons, and have better leg room and visibility. It has quickly become a favorite place to sit for many of our patrons! Thus, we no longer have a restricted view section of the theater, so we can no longer sell restricted view season tickets.

Do season tickets sell out?

Season tickets only sell out when there is a risk of not enough seats being left to accommodate all season ticket holders: Preview season tickets do sell out relatively quickly. Early Bird season tickets do run the risk of selling out, but not as quickly as Preview tickets. Mid-Week & Matinee and Deluxe season tickets become limited but very seldom sell out.

Can Season Ticket reservations be made online?

No. Our ticketing system doesn't allow this option. However, you are more than welcome to look at seating availability online before you call in. Season ticket reservations must be made by calling the theater at 801-226-8600.

Will you mail me my tickets?

No. We don't want to risk tickets getting lost in the mail. Your tickets will be available for you at will call on the night of your scheduled performance. You may also come into the box office in advance (Mon-Sat 10:00am to 6:30pm) and have your tickets printed ahead of time.

If I buy season tickets, can I skip one show to see a different show multiple times?

No. A season ticket is good for one ticket to each show. These tickets are non-transferable between shows

Is it possible to guarantee I get my favorite seat for each show?

Yes. To do this, we recommend you buy a seat! Before we take reservations for season ticket holders of any kind, we take reservations for donors who have donated $300 or more to provide a seat in the theater. These donors are NOT limited or required to make reservations in the seat they've purchased. These donors may make their reservations for any seat in the theater, on the dates included in the season ticket package they've chosen, and have reservation priority over other season ticket holders who have not donated a seat to the theater.

Can I change my date?

Yes. All season tickets include a free date change for each ticket for each show, provided we have at least one business day's notice. All same-day date changes are $8; the free date change does not apply to a same-day date change. Date changes are dependent upon seat availability.

Why do you need my email address?

Email is the only way we have to communicate regularly with you. We use email to send you receipts, reservation confirmations, reservation reminders, and promotions exclusive to season ticket holders. We do not share or sell your contact information to any other party. It is for the use of Hale Center Theater Orem, alone, for the primary use of ensuring you don't miss any shows you've reserved.

Why do I have to pay a processing fee for season tickets?

The processing fee for season tickets helps to offset the costs of brochures, promotional materials, postage, shipping and handling of promotional and season ticket materials, and staff processing.

hy do I need to make reservations at the time of purchase with Early Bird, Preview, and Mid-Week & Matinee Season Tickets?

Simply stated, making a reservation at the time of purchase ensures you have a reservation for each show. If you've purchased season tickets, we want to be sure you see each show. By requiring a reservation at the time of purchase, it guarantees a date on the calendar and seats in the theater for you and your party. This lessens the risk of a show becoming popular and selling out before season ticket holders get around to calling to make their reservations. PLUS: each season ticket is given a free date change with each show. You're more than welcome to take advantage of this and change your date as the show gets closer and your schedule and calendar becomes more finalized, provided we have a business day's notice. (All same-day date changes are $8; the free date change does not apply to a same-day date change. Seats subject to availability.)

If I have Deluxe Season Tickets, may I make all my reservations at the time of purchase or am I required to wait?

Deluxe season ticket holders may make all reservations up front, if they wish. In fact, we encourage it! We want to be sure you see each show, and the earlier you make reservations, the better. Once season tickets go on sale, every seat for every performance of every show goes on sale, so all reservations can be made as soon as you'd like. You are welcome to wait and call-as-you-go throughout the year, but you certainly don't have to.

If I have Deluxe Season Tickets, how early do I need to make my reservations?

We recommend making your reservations as soon as possible, even if you have Deluxe season tickets which allow you to call-as-you-go throughout the year. At very least, we strongly recommend making your reservation as each show opens, or a month before the show's opening date. Once season tickets go on sale, every seat for every performance of every show goes on sale, so by the time our last show of the season opens around October, those tickets will have been on sale for over a year and options will certainly be more limited the longer you wait to call to reserve your seats.

BUYING SEASON TICKETS FOR SOMEONE ELSE OR WITH A FRIEND

I'm buying a Preview, Early Bird, or Midweek & Matinee season ticket for someone else, but I don't know what dates they can come to the show. Help!

All season ticket reservations, with the exception of Deluxe, must be made at the time of purchase, even if the season ticket is for someone else. We recommend making reservations for the season ticket holders on the same night, for consistency and ease. For example, make all your reservations for Tuesday nights. All season tickets have one free date change to use for each show, so should a date you've chosen not work with the season ticket holder's schedule, they'll be able to change the reservation for free, provided we have at least one business day's notice.

I'm buying a season ticket for someone else. How can I put the ticket in their name?

If the season ticket holder (gift recipient) already has an account with us, you can purchase the season ticket under their name. This ensures we have all their accurate contact information.

If the season ticket holder (gift recipient) does not have an account with us, you must purchase the season ticket under your own name. When the season ticket holder (gift recipient) calls in for the first time, they can transfer the season ticket to their own name and we can make an account for them at that time.

I want to attend all the shows with my friend. Should we buy our tickets together, under one name?

No. We prefer you each buy your own season ticket separately, under your own name. When you call to reserve your seats, we can schedule your seats together (you may both call separately, or one of you may call on behalf of both of you.) This way, you'll both receive email confirmations and reminders when your reservation is coming up.

Does it save me money to purchase season tickets?

Yes. Here's how:

Preview Tickets: 28% savings

Preview tickets: $13

Date changes: $5

$18 (preview ticket + date change) x 6 shows = $108. The Preview season tickets are $78 each. Preview tickets are the most cost effective way to see our shows. By purchasing them as a season ticket package and making your reservations up front, you guarantee first-look access at our shows at the best prices. Plus, you get a free date change with each show, should you need it.

(Date changes are free, provided we have a business day's notice. All same-day date changes are $8; the free date change does not apply to a same-day date change.)

Early Bird Tickets: 39% - 43% savings

Mid-week and matinee tickets: $22

Weekend tickets: $24

Date Changes: $5

$27 (weeknight ticket price plus date change price) x 6 shows = $162. And $29 (weekend ticket price plus date change price) x 6 shows = $174. Early Bird season tickets are $99 each.  Choosing early bird season tickets offers you a bit more flexibility with date selection than the Preview ticket, but still offers maximum savings on your tickets (plus a free date change with each show!)

(Date changes are free, provided we have a business day's notice. All same-day date changes are $8; the free date change does not apply to a same-day date change.)

Midweek & Matinee Tickets: 32% savings

Mid-week and matinee tickets: $22

Date Changes: $5

Beverages: $2

$29 (weeknight ticket + date change + beverage) x 6 shows = $174. Midweek & Matinee season tickets are $119 each, saving you $55 throughout the course of the year. These season tickets are very flexible - allowing you to attend each show at any time during the course of the run, provided it's on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night, or any of our matinees. By purchasing the season ticket and making your reservations up front, you guarantee your seats to each show, AND you get a free beverage at each show and a free date change with each show, should you need it.

(Date changes are free, provided we have a business day's notice. All same-day date changes are $8; the free date change does not apply to a same-day date change.)

Deluxe Tickets: 26% savings

Weekend Tickets: $24

Date Changes: $5

Beverages: $2

$31 (weekend ticket + date change + beverage) x 6 shows = $186. Deluxe season tickets are $138 each, saving you $48 throughout the course of the year. If you intend to see each show on our season, but need the most flexible season ticket option, Deluxe is the way to go. You can come any night of the week - including Fridays and Saturdays - or any matinee. You can call-as-you-go during the year to make reservations, and you'll get a free beverage with each show. Plus you get a free date change with each show if you need it.

(Date changes are free, provided we have a business day's notice. All same-day date changes are $8; the free date change does not apply to a same-day date change.)
